Create redhat Virtual machine on VMware ESX

Following is the procedure to create RHEL virtual machine on Vmware ESX

1. First log in to the VMware Infrastructure Client , with admin username and password

2. After login, look at the left bar and identify in which folder to place the virtual machine.

3. Right click on the selected folder

4. Click new machine

5. Select the custom radio button

6. Follow the wizard. It will ask to input necessary information such as hostname , datastore, OS and version, memory, network connection,disk capacity, etc

7. This will save the configuration for RHEL virtual machine. After this just right click on RHEL virtual machine, choose power on tab from the list.

8. Mount your CDROM :

Click “Connect CD/DVD ” on the menu bar, or else you can either specify iso image file location or put the cd/dvd in the local drive and mount it.

9. Open the console and you are able to install the Redhat Linux virtual machine from the CD/DVD or ISO image
